Rotary encourages and actively
supports projects involving a local Rotary Club (the Host Club) and one
or more clubs outside the host country (International Clubs.) Members
of both the Host and International Clubs must participate in the
project in some way. Not only do these joint projects benefit local
communities, they help create permanent bonds between Rotarians who
live thousands of miles from each other.
Ideas for new projects come in
many ways.
- Frequently, in visiting
another country, you meet local people, often Rotarians, who have
identified a need and a solution and ask you for help to get their
project done.
- You may have a friend or family
member in another country who knows of a particular need.
- You may hear of an organization
that is active in another country and want to get involved.
- You may learn of a project from
other Rotarians looking for support and participation, either in person
or through District and RI websites.
