Our focus:

  • Helping Rotary projects make a bigger impact, by expanding projects to respond to community needs.
  • Offering our expertise in identifying projects, getting African Rotary clubs involved and helping with Matching Grant expertise.
  • Creating partnerships with nonprofit organizations that can help get the job done—groups that understand how to make a Rotary project work well.
  • Looking for organizations outside of Rotary to make our dollars go farther.

Our largest successes to date have been in expanding the scope of our Africa projects.
Some examples include:

  • Work in Uganda that started as a water project and now includes a school library and an agricultural program.
  • Sponsoring a medical clinic Kenya that includes U.S. volunteers, while creating a demonstration farming project and shipping a container of medical supplies. Follow-on work includes a water project and progress assessment to identify the best practices to inform the next phases.
  • HIV/AIDS training to community leaders in Zimbabwe that has now expanded to training for youth in both AIDS and technical skills, as well as supplying computers and internet connections for the trained youth.
  • A project that started with as solar electric collector and rainwater cachement that will be expanded at the Mugonero Hospital in Rwanda.
