Rotary in Africa projects are being developed every day—from
South Africa to Senegal—from Ghana to Kenya. Although each
project has it unique character, they address the major humanitarian
issues of health and hunger, literacy, water and sanitation. There are
so many opportunities to get involved in Rotary projects in
Africa—find out about African projects that are being developed
in the District and are looking for support. Contact information is
included with each opportunity to learn more about ways in which you
and your club can get involved.
Community Development in Kenya
Don Howard of the
Arvada Sunrise Club is developing a series of projects in rural Kenya that involve book collections in the U.S. to create libraries, water
and sanitation and economic development through high yield crops and micro
credit programs. Don is currently in Kenya for a two
month evaluation of the proposed projects, meeting with Rotary Clubs and local
communities to get the project started. If
you or your club are interested in getting involved, contact Don at donhoward1@aol.com.
